The Internet Marketing Number's Game - a Myth?

Internet marketing is a numbers game, we all know that. Or is it not? Maybe we are all mistaken and chasing a white elephant. Internet marketing is a highly competitive market. If you ever used a pay-per-click search engine you know what I mean. Internet marketing is a tough market. You deal with all kind of people. Just skim your inbox. I'm sometimes amazed with the emails I'm getting. "need money now help make money fast" this is an evergreen from my collection of email responses to my newsletter.

Does this sound familiar? Well, I think it's sad and embarrassing. We are doing everything a so called internet marketing guru told us to do and the responses are mostly from confused and poor people who have no clue what we are actually talking about. Now ask yourself again, is it really a numbers game or should you completely change directions.

One of the marketing systems I'm part of recently issued a statement that most of the new subscribers are from non English speaking countries. Keep in mind that the site is completely in English are geared towards English speaking audience. Just a few words of English won't do it either. They are selling the service with the slogan "find 3 and it's free". This definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Ok, now what? How can you make a living or even more than living with an online business? Ask 10 internet marketing gurus and you get 11 different answers. The only thing I can say is to approach an online business the same way as you do with a traditional business. With traditional businesses nobody expects a profit in the first year of a brand new business. But on the internet everybody gets frustrated if they don't make money in the first three days.

If everything would work like all the gurus make us believe there would be no more employment. The economy as we know it would seize to exist. Home businesses are by definition meant to be an income supplement. In some cases they become a full time income. On very rare occasions a home business can turn into a money maker. I heard of them, but I never actually met anybody that made it.

After reading all this you can understand that internet marketing is not always a pleasure. This is especially true if you are building a business with internet marketing. So, should you completely avoid internet marketing and focus on other business ventures? Well, it depends. If you can't handle the competition and the negative image of this market segment, don't do it.

On the other hand, if you are able to manage a small success in a highly competitive market, keep doing what you're doing. Chances are that some of your competitors are giving up and you can fill the void in no time. Make no mistake it's a dog eat dog environment and never ever expect a helping hand from a fellow marketer. Unless you made it into the "chosen few league". The big guns are joining forces all the time to increase their market shares and profits. Hmm, this sounds like good old corporate America, doesn't it?

As I said, treat your online business the same way you would treat a traditional brick and mortar business. Because the same principals apply to both types of businesses. Anybody who thinks they could push their business into profitable returns by maxing out their credit cards are missing the boat big time. Yes I admit it; in the beginning I spend way too much money on useless stuff because a guru told me so. Then I turned around and tried to convince others to spend too much money on useless stuff. Again a guru told me to do so.

Luckily I was able to break out of this death spiral and forced myself to analyze the situation. First, do I really want to continue with this internet thing? Second, do I really want to spend hours after hours everyday to chase something that might not exist? Yes I really want this internet thing to work and No I don't want to chase wild goose. I needed to be smarter with my business decisions and more creative in my approaches. Ever since I changed the way I'm doing things my business is doing better every day. Like the real world businesses, it takes time to develop.

The bottom line of this little story is; never trust anybody's advices blindly; don't do exactly what you've told to do without researching the consequences. Although the consequences are most likely an empty bank account and maxed out credit cards. It will devastate your financial future. Remember, be smart, play smart and play the internet marketing numbers right.

'The Mighty Ducks' released in '92 is probably the only film that can boast that its theatrical success launched a sports franchise. Fact or fiction, as a movie it found a large enough audience to convince Disney Studios to follow-up with two more installments of Mighty Duck Mania.

Plot: Self-absorbed young lawyer, Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez) is sentenced to community service for a traffic violation. His assignment is to fill in as the interim hockey coach for a local group of underachieving kids. Coach Bombay, a former hocky star in the same league years earlier, has inherited the worst team in the league. Can he harness their rebellious attitudes and turn them into contenders? Maybe even make them good enough to challenge the perennial champions and his old coach?

Formulamatic but lots of fun anyway. Estevez is surrounded by a strong cast with: Lane Smith as Coach Reilly, Heidi Kling as Casey Conway, Joshua Jackson as Charlie Conway and Marguette Moreau as Connie.

Customer Review: In the beginning,when the Ducks were born.

Well first let me start off by saying the 1st and I mean 1st movie in a set of follow up movies all ways suck!Why,I'll tell you why.Because the 1st is always the beginning,which is always the formation,which is always the worst.Ex;The 1st season of Full House sucked,becuse...(well the Olsen twins cant really act anyway) but because it was the first time the actors all got together as one as an whole to do an t.v sitcom.They didnt know each other and probaly didnt react good together beause they were just learning about each other.But as season two rolled along the show got better becuase they knew each other then and were'nt as camera-shy.So basically if you can read between lines.........you will get my message(D2 was better for obvious reasons)!

Were do I start???

Frist,we couldn't get it to work on our Dell notebook.

Second,called (Genovation)twice by phone and they didn't call back.

Third,I e-mailed them THREE times.Didn't hear from them.

So Amazon (they were GREAT!) took it back for full credit and shipping cost.

Here's the kicker.About four weeks after I got another one (different Co.) I get a call wanting to know what the problem was.

I told them and the person said they were really busy.Told them got another product and he said ,"Oh Well".

Customer Review: Half the price of an IPod

I bought this for my eight year old son. He loves it. He uses it to listen to recorded music. He also uses it to listen to FM radio. I copied a video for him as a test, and it is pretty cool. The fact that you need to connect to a USB interface to recharge the battery is not a big deal. Especially since the battery life is excellent. I highly recommend this product.

I purchased this to replace an iriver clix (gen 2) that broke after I dropped it.

The good - The construction of the Sansa is good and controls are easy to use. It plays MP3s and WMA's fine has a straight forward menu setup. For $65 it was a good value for a durable player (yes I have dropped it). Sync's with Media Player and downloads are pretty fast. Had a screen to navigate with (which is why I chose it over a shuffle).

The bad - The FM radio has poor reception (compared to any of the irivers I had or even a cheap $10 walkman tape player). I would give the sound quality only an C-. I tried to listen to it with an FM transmitter during my commute, but had to crank up the volume quite high to even hear it and the sound quality was poor. With my high end ear buds they quality was also poor. The software isn't sophisticated (no sleep mode or ability change wallpaper) and creating and editing the built in playlist is a pain.

Overall good for what it is a reliable MP3 player, but if you are downgrading from a more functional player you will be left wanting a bit more.

Customer Review: No ninjas, but, wait, there are a couple of ninjas in this movie!

this is a non stop kung fu ride. I think there is like 15 or so fight scenes in this and some are pretty long. An evil Shaolin monk(Eagle Han) has decided to help the new government to take over Shaolin. You will see him give one of the greatest martial arts displays ever in the opening sequence. After Han disposes of the old Shaolin Chief, 4 students flee with the Golden Sutra, written by Damo himself and are making for Tibet. Without the Sutra, Eagle Han's plan to fully take over Shaolin will not be complete. On their trip, they literally don't stop fighting for more than 2 minutes at a time. A town of dead people suddenly come alive and fight them. They stay at a place where a ton of coffins are. No other place to stay but of course about 30 people jump out of the coffins for a huge battle. Then of course we have a guy who puts Legalos from Lord of the Rings to shame and is an excellent enemy to say the least. Action director of this movie Robert Tai has a great cameo jumping out of a snowman for a suprise attack. Just look for the tall guy in blue with a blue headband and the biggest nose you have ever seen. Robert Tai is impossible to miss. Not to be missed is a good female high kicker who's big breasts are her secret weapon. Then before the final duel between Eagle Han and Alexander Lo Rei at the end, ninjas show up! They provide another great fight scene and though they are not really explained why they are there, good ninja fights are a welcome addition to any movie.

This movie really has to be seen for Eagle Han. He puts on an unbelievable boot display in the opening and isn't too bad in the final fight either.
